Verse 1:
I have come to a barren place after years of rebellion have tainted my very soul.
And the lines etched into my face tell the story more clearly than I could have ever told.
I've been led by unbridled passions and committed atrocities that cannot be described.
And the things I swore I would not become are within me and I can't change,
No matter how hard I try, and I try, and I try!

I have nowhere I can turn.

Is there still grace left for me?

The regret of my wasted years lays upon me a weight that my spirit can hardly take.
And the shame mingled with the tears is the most bitter drink that my heart's ever had to taste.
I'm so tired of all of my lying. Painting clever disguises that never resemble me.
So, Lord Jesus, I'm broken and crying, "Forgive me, Lord!"
Cause there's no other way to be free. I can see! I can see!
